This training provides clinicians with foundational knowledge and practical tools for working therapeutically with couples, as well as guidance for addressing relationship dynamics within individual therapy.
Participants will explore the therapeutic stance required for couples work, including developing confidence as a directive and structured presence.
The program addresses intake procedures, session structure, and techniques for building relational skills between partners. Additionally, clinicians will learn approaches for working with individual clients on relationship concerns, including differentiation, unconscious dynamics, and maintaining focus on the client's relationship to self.
Ethical considerations, countertransference, and termination criteria will also be discussed.
